April Fool's Day!

1st April 2009. In the staff room.

Co-teacher: "Hey, today is April Fool's Day. Do you want to play a trick on 3E3?"
Me: "Hmmm...Sure!"

A hushed disussion ensues. Both teachers giggle.

1.15 pm - In 3E3 classroom.

Me: putting on a serious expression, trying hard not to smil. "Class, put away your handouts now, because we have an important announcement to make." (shuffling of papers) "I've just written on the board your CA1 marks computation. If you look at it, you'll see that classwork constitutes a large percentage of your CA marks. In the first place, your test results aren't fantastic. Then, many of you still refuse to hand in your homework! Every piece of homework you've done is counted towards your CA marks. So, with your attitude, it's no wonder so many of you fail your CA1." Waves fake classlist with a row of red marks. Continues to nag and scold, biting back another smile. "In fact, only 5 of you pass your CA. Five!!!" Reads out 5 names while looking down the classlist. Class is stunned. Shocked silence as everyone waits in anticipation for his/her name to be read out.

Co-teacher joins in to nag/scold about handing in the latest piece of homework. After a pregnant pause, both teachers can hold back our smiles no longer.

Co-teacher: "Happy April Fool's Day!!!"

Screams of surprise and sighs of relief are very audible.
